Projects

I’ve worked with individuals, startups, and small businesses to realize dozens of applications that have been enjoyed by countless users, deployed inside Fortune 500 companies, and used by the U.S. Armed Forces.

Here are a few of the many examples of work I’ve done over the last few years:

Diobox logo

Diobox

Diobox is a complete platform for managing events and guests. It dramatically simplifies the process of organizing events with a beautiful and functional design. Diobox has been used by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, IBM, and Tag Heuer, among others. Based on the success of the application, the company successfully raised additional funding and is increasing its customer base every month. I am the sole developer of the iOS app and continue to support it.

Seneca logo

Seneca Women

Seneca Women is a mobile app by Seneca Women, a global leadership platform centered on the principle of advancing women and girls. The app provides daily insights and inspirations from women leaders, as well as a marketplace to shop from a curation of women-owned businesses. It’s designed to help advance women in the economy around the world by providing relevant news, practical lessons and inspiration from women leaders and experts, and resources of women-focused events and impactful non-profits.

I worked with the founder and a small team to define the requirements of the backend content management system, the API design, and the scope of the v1 product. I am the sole developer of the iOS app and continue to support the app. Seneca Women was selected for the inaugural Apple Entrepreneur Camp in January 2019, which I attended as the iOS developer. It was the top featured app in the App Store for four days in March 2019, and was the App of the Day in March 2020.

Portico logo

Portico

Portico is a travel organizer for web, iPhone, and iPad. Portico helps you save, plan, organize, and share your travel adventures. You can easily save ideas in your trips, such as restaurants, museums, and other places, links to articles online, and notes.

There’s an iOS Share extension for easily saving content (links, images, and files) from Safari and other apps. You can see all your ideas on a map, and create a travel plan with estimated travel time and distance between places. All data syncs in real-time and you can invite friends to collaborate.

I built the entire iOS app. I worked with the founder, program manager, CTO, and designer to scope the features for the initial release, define APIs, and optimize the design for the v1. After the initial release, I’ve continued to work with the team to add new features to the app and add support for subscriptions.

Bites logo

Bites

Bites is an app that connects foodies and eaters with local cooks and chefs for in-home, farm-to-table dining experiences. No tip, no tax, and it’s BYOB.

Foodies can find local cooks, chat with them, see their availability, request a menu from the cook, indicate the maximum they’re willing to pay, collaborate on the specifics of the dining experience, reserve the cook, and then come back after the dining experience to rate and review the cook and post any dining pictures.

Cooks of all skill levels, from amateurs to professionals, create cooking profiles on the app and offer their cooking services to foodies nearby. Home cooks, students, chefs, and independent eateries participate. Cooks set their own prices, availability, and cuisine offerings.

I completely rebuilt the entire app as a native iOS app with a completely new user experience (UX). I worked with the founder early to define the scope and features, and to select a small team of designers and a backend developer to work with me. The app has a very custom UI, features Apple Pay and credit card payment options, uses location services to find nearby cooks, and implements push notifications for in-app messaging and updating the foodies and cooks throughout the reservation process. Bites was highlighted in the App Store in March 2020.

Storka logo

Storka

Storka is an iPhone app that offers same-day alcohol delivery in New York City. You can order alcohol, with no markups, and have it delivered to your door within 60–90 minutes.

I built the entire iOS app. The initial version of the app was built in two months to coincide with the launch of the web app in May 2020. I worked with the founder to convert the existing Storka style into a design that looks and feels at home on iOS. The user interface is optimized for mobile for quickly finding products and recommendations, and easily paying with a streamlined check-out process.
